چکیده

The effect of different sources of nitrate salts (ammonium nitrate, sodium nitrate and potassium nitrate) on nitrate reductase (NR) activity and nitrate reductase expression in the leaves of Foeniculum vulgare seedlings grown in pots containing perlite. Two week old seedlings were treated with 30, 60 and 120 mM aqueous solution of ammonium nitrate, sodium nitrate or potassium nitrate. After 21 days of nitrate supply, the leaves were harvest and kept in liquid nitrogen for analysis of nitrate/nitrite ratio, nitrate reductase activity and mRNA expression. Result showed that ammonium nitrate, sodium nitrate and potassium nitrate, as inducers, had significant effects on both nitrate reductase activity and nitrate reductase expression in some rates. In high ammonium nitrate, sodium nitrate and potassium nitrate supplies, nitrate reductase activity and nitrate reductase expressions were suppressed apparently due to nitrogen metabolite response inhibition and toxicity.

Analysis of nitrate reductase mRNA expression and nitrate reductase activity in response to nitrogen supply

Nitrate is one of the major sources of nitrogen for the growth of plants. It is taken up by plant roots and transported to the leaves where it is reduced to nitrite in the. The main objective of this research was to investigate stimulatory effects of sodium nitrate, potassium nitrate, ammonia and urea on the production/generation of the nitrate reductase mRNA in Triticum aestivum plants. The pl...

ارزیابی تجمع نیترات و فعالیت نیترات ردوکتاز در مراحل مختلف رشد در برخی توده‌های اسفناج (Spinacia oleracea L.) بومی ایران

An outdoor pot experiment was carried out in sand+ coco-peat culture (80:20 ratio) to investigate the response of nitrate reductase activity and nitrate accumulation in roots and leaves of fifteen Iranian landraces of spinach (Spinacia oleracea) at different stages of plant development. Plants were tested during a three periods from 22, 30 and 38 days after emergence of first true leaves and be...

Uptake and nitrate accumulation affected by partial replacement of nitrate-N with different source of amino acids in spinach and lettuce

As natural plant growth stimulators, amino acids are widely used to improve the yield and quality of crops. Change in enzymes activities of N assimilation (NR, NiR and GS), residual nitrate (NO3-), soluble protein content, and yield of spinach and lettuce plants were investigated under replacing 20% nitrate-N in the nutrient solution by L-glycine and blood meal amino acids. Seeds of the mention...

Glycine supports in vivo reduction of nitrate in barley leaves.

Glycine, a photorespiratory intermediate, enhanced the in vivo reduction of nitrate in barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) leaf slices, when included in the assay medium. Isonicotinyl hydrazide, an inhibitor of glycine oxidation, partially reduced NO(2) (-) production. The enhancement caused by glycine treatment was reversed by isonicotinyl hydrazide when both were present together in the medium. Simil...

تأثیر مقدار نیترات و زمان برداشت بر غلظت آهن، روی، مس، پتاسیم و فعالیت آنزیم نیترات ردوکتاز در کاهو و اسفناج

Leafy vegetables are considered as the main sources of nitrate in the human diet. In order to investigate the effect of nitrate levels and harvest times on nitrate accumulation, nitrate reductase activity, concentrations of Fe, Zn, Cu and K in Lettuce and Spinach and their relation to nitrate accumulation in these leafy vegetables, two harvest times (29 and 46 days after transplanting), two veg...
